"How to build decking in an afternoon" by Steve Nextdoor, 2019 1. Choose wet decking planks that were salvaged from the Mary Rose, or any other Tudor vessel that sank in the 1500s.
2. Trim off the really rotten bits with a circular saw, and use the bits that appear "ok" - these will make nice surrounds for concrete slab step.
3. Rest the planks across a nice sturdy frame that is balancing across a multitude of surfaces, in this case, uneven concrete at one end, and two towers of used bricks, spattered in concrete at the other end. NOTE: No need to use a spirit level, or a tape measure - all of this cutting and sawing can easily be done by holding your thumb up, closing one eye and having a guess. Or, in SND's case, being a savant, the gift of creating things to scale using his mind's eye.
